Michael McNerney

CEO & Co-founder

As Co-founder and CEO, Mike is devoted to the success of enterprise clients and investor initiatives. His charismatic demeanor and collaborative leadership style complement his extensive expertise in government and commercial cyber policy. To further ensure the safety of the future cyber world, he serves as an affiliate of Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC). He advised several startups prior to joining Efflux Systems.

Mike McNerney’s professional journey is rooted in service to the development of our nation’s cybersecurity. As Cyber Policy Advisor for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Attorney for the Office of the General Counsel, Mike drafted and negotiated key pieces of federal legislation through the congressional process and worked with defense industry, internet service providers and tech companies to develop cybersecurity programs. As a Foreign Affairs Officer and Presidential Management Fellow in the U.S. State Department, he pioneered a U.S. government detainee monitoring policy and drafted a national strategy for fighting corruption in Afghanistan. His career was launched as a Captain for the U.S. Air Force, where he served four honorable years. Mike holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from University of California, Davis.


Adam Bixler

COO & Co-founder

Overseeing product strategy and positioning, Adam leads the Efflux team to provide a superb experience to clients of all sizes. But as Co-founder and COO, his responsibilities don’t stop there. He ensures everything from business administration to marketing gets done right to keep us running smoothly.

From the front lines of operations to the back offices of strategy, Adam Bixler has a clear head for cybersecurity. He’s managed diverse projects in strategic, operational, and tactical level planning and formulated policy for protection of Defense Department networks,  including  intrusion response plans for  United States Cyber Command. Leveraging his military experience to help private enterprises, he’s led consulting teams evaluating enterprise level cybersecurity programs by providing assessment frameworks and adversary perspectives  based on DoD methods. Following an outstanding career leading a variety of cybersecurity initiatives, Adam gravitated toward the realm of tech entrepreneurship. Soon after, he took a bold leap and co-founded Morta Security, which was acquired by Palo Alto Networks in 2014. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in Information and Computer Science.

John Myers

CTO & Co-founder

John leads product strategy and development with his straight shooter, no-nonsense approach and a drumming heart for cybersecurity. As Co-founder & CTO, he oversees the creation of all Efflux patented technology and aims to build streamlined tech solutions to solve the difficult cybersecurity challenges our society faces.

Prior to Efflux, John’s career focused on cyber and intelligence operations for the U.S. Air Force, and his track record is nothing less than impressive. As Director of Operations, he guided cyber operations training programs and directed large scale red flag cyber ops planning and exercises, achieving #4 Captain ranking of 44 peers. As Senior Cyber Analyst, John Myers led counter-cyber intel missions and developed advanced TTPs, analyzed unknown network activity, and was ultimately awarded by the NTOC Director for uncovering traffic from the top-10 DoD threats. He was also competitively selected for DoDs premiere 3-year Computer Network Operations Develop Program (CNODP), where he engineered and developed CNO tools, tactics, techniques and procedures. Here he also discovered security flaws and critical vulnerabilities in DoD systems, resulting in cutting reporting and countermeasure response times in half. John graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds a MS in Information Systems and Network Management from Strayer University, Maryland.

Douglas Albert

Director of Engineering

As Director of Engineering, Douglas is the captain of our determined product team. He spearheads our advanced computer network defense capabilities and ensures development and deployments roll out smoothly. From the inside out, Douglas leads the technical aspects of what we do.

Douglas’ career spans both a variety of senior technical roles for private and government projects. He’s provided key open source and cyber intelligence analyses to support intelligence and law enforcement communities, and he’s created cybersecurity training programs to supply cutting edge tactics, techniques, and procedures for customers. He’s managed end-to-end software development lifecycles in addition to engineering network solutions from design through execution. He has a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from MIT.
